Patient Comfort
Pediatric dentists have received additional specialized training in the treatment of children. We understand that every child is unique and therefore tailor our behvaior management approach to your child. We use a variety of techniques to create a comfortable experience for each of our patients in order to provide high quality dental care.
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide or "laughing gas" is a blend of two gases, oxygen and nitrous oxide, which is inhaled through a small mask placed on your child's nose. Your child remains fully conscious while maintaining all natural reflexes. It is an effective technique used to alleviate fear and anxiety, and may help calm your child to otherwise worrisome sounds and sensations.
Conscious Sedation
Conscious sedation is a technique often used for children with a higher level of anxiety and also those too young to cooperate for dental treatment. It involves the use of an oral medication, which when ingested helps the child to better cope with his/her dental care. |
